Film and Discussion: POV’s Pier Kids

June 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

In celebration of Pride Month, WPBS presents a free community screening of POV’s Pier Kids at Flower Library.

On the Christopher Street Pier in New York City, homeless queer and trans youth of color forge friendships and chosen families, withstanding tremendous amounts of abuse while working to carve out autonomy in their lives. With intimate, immersive access to these fearless young people, Pier Kids highlights the precarity and resilience of a community many choose to ignore. This film is the winner of the Truer Than Fiction Award and the Independent Spirit Awards.

Following the screening, a representative from the Q Center will lead a community discussion.

This event is free and open to the public.
