How do I get a Library Card?
To get a FREE library card, bring in your NYS driver's license or another picture ID and proof of your current address like a utility bill.
Can my child get a Library Card?
Students, 12 years old and younger must also be accompanied by an adult in order to get a library card. Students over 12 can bring in their student ID in order to get a library card.
May I use my card at other libraries?
Yes, you can use your System card at any of the 65 public libraries in the North Country Library System which covers Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence and most of Oswego county.
What if I am just visiting or don't have a permanent address?
If you are just visiting the area, consider taking out our "Read and Return" books. These books do not get checked out. Also, we have a "Deposit Account" in which you leave a deposit of $25.00 and are allowed to check out two items at a time.
I lost my Library Card. What do I do?
Please come to the library as soon as possible to cancel your lost card and get a replacement card. The first 3 replacement cards are $1. Thereafter, the replacement fee is $5.00. You will need a photo ID to obtain a replacement card.
My Library Card has "Expired". What do I do?
Our library cards "expire" after one year. We will just need to confirm your contact information to renew your card.
How can I use the library's computers?
The library has over twenty computers for the public to use. You will need a library card and your PIN to use a computer. If you do not have a library card, we can issue you a Guest Pass. You will have to provide identification to obtain a computer Guest Pass.
What is my PIN?
Typically, your PIN is the last four digits of your telephone number.
Can I reserve a computer?
All of our adult public computers are available on a "first come" basis.
How do I renew a book?
You can call us to renew an item or you can renew your items online (see below). NOTE: Some items cannot be renewed online. Please call us if you have any questions 315-785-7705.
How do I see what I have checked out/what holds I have placed?
Go to the catalog at www.ncls.org and login using your 13 digit library barcode and your PIN. Click on My Account. You will see what items you have checked out and what items you have on hold. You can change your PIN, renew items, or delete holds.
How do I connect to the Free WiFi?
Bring up your browser. Go to a website. You will see a screen that prompts you to enter your library card number and PIN. Your account will need to be in good standing to use the library's free Wifi.
Can I take pictures at the library?

How do I reserve a Meeting Room?
