U.S. Archives
and Records Administration
To quote from their vision statement,"The National Archives
is not a dusty hoard of ancient history. It is a public trust on
which our democracy depends. It enables people to inspect for themselves
the record of what government has done. It enables officials and
agencies to review their actions and helps citizens hold them accountable."

Rulers
"This site contains lists of heads of state and heads of government
(and, in certain cases, de facto leaders which don't occupy either
of those formal positions) of all currently existing countries and
territories. Inasmuch as countries which no longer exist are included,
they are found under their main successors (e.g., for the Soviet
Union, look under Russia). "
